Not that I keep up with the actors in porn, but I had no idea Mia Khalifa had even stopped doing porn. Apparently, she's been out of the industry for 5 years. However, she still remains wildly popular. Even with this popularity, she hasn't made as much money as you'd think from it.
"People think I’m racking in millions from porn. Completely untrue. I made a TOTAL of around $12,000 in the industry and never saw a penny again after that. Difficulty finding a normal job after quitting porn was... scary."
Now she only worked in porn for 3 months, so $4k a month is nothing to scoff at but... is it worth it?
With everything that comes with doing that kind of work, namely the stigma associated with it and how that can effect your life, I'd want those women paid SIGNIFICANTLY more. It's not a normal job. It's not something you can really just leave behind when you're done with it, and it's not something socially acceptable to do, for the most part. So you're looking at being branded as a sex worker forever, possibly ostracizing friends and family, having trouble getting employed if you leave the industry, and being looked down upon by a large portion of mainstream society. Pay them more.
