There's a tradition in my house where in the month of October we watch a different horror/Halloween movie every night. It's probably my favorite family tradition and it lasts for an entire month. We're 2 movies in and I think it's only fair to share what I've been watching so you can have some ideas for your own personal marathon.
Let's get started!
NIGHT 1: JEEPERS CREEPERS (2001)
Jeepers Creepers isn't on my all time favorites list but it's definitely a classic. My 14 year old daughter wanted to get in on our tradition so I wanted to ease her in to the horror movie genre without scarring her for life (that comes later this month).
I think my favorite thing about this movie is the slow monster reveal. They really take their time with it which can be annoying to some people. To me I enjoyed the slow reveal because your mind really goes wild with what exactly this thing is. Even my kid was constantly trying to guess what exactly we were dealing with until the big reveal....
I mean Jesus that thing is terrifying! Great movie to kick off the month! But now that we're in the full swing of October it's time to bring out the big guns for night 2
NIGHT 2: CHILD'S PLAY (1988)
NOW we're talking! If you haven't seen this movie in a while do yourself a favor and watch it. The special FX still look amazing and Chucky looks so freakin scary. I love Child's Play 2, it's one of the best horror sequels out there and can't wait to watch it later this month. But you can't watch the sequel without watching the original and it holds up so freakin well. This is the stuff of nightmares guys....
Also did you know they're making a remake?? Apparently the first image of Chucky was released and it kinda sucks
I don't know if my kid had nightmares last night. I should probably ask her. Not going to change whatever movie we have planned for tonight, but I'm just trying to be nice
