Fogo de Chão Shooting Suspect Had Mental Health Issues, According to Family

22-year-old Nygil Cullins was killed by police on Wednesday at Fogo de Chão after he shot a security guard.

His family told CBS 46 that they were with Cullins earlier in the evening and called police on him to get help for his mental health issues. Cullins left the home before police could arrive.

Around 7:40pm, police were called about an unruly person with a handgun. Officers arrived to find Cullins inside the restaurant. He did not cooperate for police trying to escort him from the business. The officer shot his taser at Cullins which was not effective. Cullins then tackled the security guard and pulled out his gun and shot the security guard once. He remains in stable condition. An APD officer then fatally shot Cullins.
